Of course just when they are out of warrenty
Regardless of new product and Tech, The sums add up now , as they did when the units were exy but FIT were high
Enecsys that I used have a 25 year warrantee.

Well I've got a guy coming around on Monday. I had quotes from TVS go down to $3k and they keep emailing me about specials etc. I get a bit sceptical about that kind of pressure marketing. I would have asked you up guys who offered a contact to send me the details but as it turned out a work colleague has a mate who owned a solar installation company and gave me the drill on TVS. He referred me to a guy who sounds good, although it will be more expensive than the quotes I have had. But that doesn't matter, it's more important that I get it right and get quality. Interestingly, he's a big fan of the individual micro inverters and can't see why anyone would use anything else. Just his opinion I suppose.

Mate, he is 100% correct, that's for sure! Just check on the brand, Enecsys is what I have which are from the US

There is no way I would even consider Solar without them.

Hope which ever way you go it works out Gumb. As a retired spark, I updated my system with an SMA inverter and added some panels from a tier one manufacturer yesterday. Pass on micro inverts. Germany's best have a standard 5 years on their inverter range and most panels have 25. Who ever you decide upon, make sure they are likely to be still in business no matter the marketing spin if something breaks.

One way to sort the wheat form the chaff is to request a copy of Photon. This is pretty much the worlds measuring stick for all things solar. Subscription is expensive however they offer one free issue and all contain industry ranking for panels and inverters they test independently. Look up and see where the equipment the guy proposing ranks... CS

Cheers. I wonder how we'll look in 100 years by which time all power will be solar. It just makes sense.

Yep, sure did. They guy I dealt with came highly recommended and said he wouldn't use anything else now. I've got the unit to monitor all the panels and his reasons were pretty much in line with your input earlier in the thread. Thanks for that. I spent double what I was quoted by TVR but have more power (4.5kw) and better equipment. The fact that the inverters on the panels means not having to run 400v DC down a line to the fuse box helps. That loses power and is more of a fire risk than conversion to AC at the source.
