Looks like a great outcome. Bet it was delicious. They are nor cheap but certainly worth it for the taste.
I did a 3 boner for my son and his wife for his birthday a few months ago in the Q200 and he reckoned it was the best beef he had ever eaten!

Re: Kebabs
Jumped in and bought a Weber kebab rack set. It works really well. So much easier than the cheap BG ones which just spin depending on where the weight is located.

Re: New Q
The rump was standard butcher material about 20mm thick. Probably did a total of 5 min. It was nicely seared on the outside and still very pink in the middle - what I would call medium rare. It tasted delicious - very moist. Sorry no pics - we were hungry! I will do photos next time - mea culpa.....

New Q
Just bought a new Q1200 to co-exist with the now 8 year old Q220. This will be for travelling and picnics, being so much lighter. Heated it up for 10min after assembly and it gets a LOT hotter than the Q220. Must be the colour that helps! Will try a piece of rump on it tonight. I reckon about 2min p...

Re: Weber spirit - upgraded from original q
Thanks for your insight, Dave.
I agree that the Spirit looks pretty neat but my Q220 (now 6 years old) does everything I want. It certainly has been the best BBQ I have ever used.

Re: Weber spirit - upgraded from original q
Any idea on the comparative gas consumption? My Q220 is an absolute gas miser.

Age of a Q220
I have had a Q220 for coming up to 6 years now. I have been delighted with it, using it 3 - 5 nights a week to cook just about everything (except desserts!) It has worked without any problems except an igniter which Weber replaced under warranty at about 4 years. Just wondering how long anybody here...

Re: Weber Qs and Roasting Pans
It looks like you have done a great job with the veg mix. I will have to try this. My wife is always asking me to cook the veggies in the pan juices but I have always just followed the Weber instructions with the trivet on a double layer of pierced foil.
Thanks for the pics.
