Re: Smoked Kranskys
Yep, Capeview Inverloch is good. Has grown over the last 5 years. I love the butcher in Inverloch. The best steaks in the area come from him. Just recently Inverloch Foodworks has upped its game. Other than that it is Wonthaggi. Korumburra for a haircut. A nice drive and an old fashioned ridgy didge...

Re: Weber Master Touch Plus
You gear junkie, you. Don't you remember the childhood joys of a charcoaled chop and snag with your dad at a camp site stone bbq fired by brush wood collected nearby? Ah, youthful experiences will be what we remember most fondly one day. It is all about the joy of first discovery. In the meantime, a...

Re: Smoked Kranskys
Done deal. The girls are both out now shopping and have added that to their list. Down here at Inverloch we can go out with a little more freedom than in the Melb Metro leper zone... Have you seen how there are some in the Melb Bayside council area who want to make charcoal bbqing illegal? One has t...

Re: Smoked Kranskys
Never thought of smoking them. I always grill them. You have given me an idea. I hate it when I grill kranskys or chorizos for too long. Usually because I was sitting down talking and drinking beer or wine. Or both...

Re: Its Quiet on this Board
A most interesting thread. Tells the story of what can happen in forums and with human nature generally. All the best, Davo. I take my hat off to you for keeping the embers glowing. On the up side, I think that interest in bbqing, and talking about it, has a great future now we have to find a way to...

Bingo. Worked a treat in the kamado.
Getting the hang of having veggies and meat arriving at the same time, and love the Kamado Joe.
Thanks, Captain.

Re: WHAT DID YOU COOK - PART 5
Very satisfied with this recipe. http://www.barbecuebible.com/featured/bbqu/bbq_u_tangerine_teriyaki_chick.php Used Amfib's 60 degrees rule and all OK. Makes a change from Peri Peri. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w267/mustud52/chicken-1.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w267/mustud52/chick...

Re: Can you identify this 1950's bbq
My parents used to have one of those back in the late 1960's. I remember the spindle always sticking and the grill tilting.

Re: 60C chicken
I have found that once the inner temp gets over 70 the texture and moisture really starts falling off. I aim for Keith's 60 mark as a minimum and find that to achieve that minimum most pieces will be about 65 and a max of about 67 or 68. That works OK for me.
The Thermapen makes it very easy.

Re: Peri Peri Chicken
The original idea was to make it a dry brine style marinade, but numerous people have complained that it is too salty. I shake off all the marinade before I cook, but I am guessing that most people don't. So - maybe 2-3 tbsp then. I still make it using chicken breast (with skin) and use 5 tblespoon...

Re: Weber OTS $199 at Bunnings
I received an email from Amazon today telling me about the great deals on Weber bbq's. I get an automated email about this every now and then because I browsed there previously for Weber products. The price of the OTG in the U.S. is $149, including delivery. This compares with the Aussie price of $3...
