Re: WHAT DID YOU COOK - PART 4
Decided to have a crack at a decent Butter Chicken: Marinated the cut chicken thighs in yoghurt and tandoori past for about 90mins and then threaded onto skewers: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c283/grolim1/2012-07-07161354.jpg Fired up the small 18.5" weber with a full chimney of lump charc...

Bacon and Pastrami
Had a go at making these last week and thought I'd share. I know you all love pics, so took plenty :D After seeing great write ups on here and a few other places I decided to give it a go. Also for a long time in the back of the mind thought of “I really must give making bacon a go at some stage”, I...

Re: WEBER KETTLE ROTISSERIE ? are they worth getting ???
Looking good Shayne :D What benefit did the heat shield over the coals give? Looks like with that and the tray of veg the heat would then come up through the gap in the middle directly under the birds? Is that intended? Toying with something like that or perhaps a thin layer of coals directly undern...

Nice work Shayne! A good purchase, be sure to share the results.
I've still only used mine once, but have been quite busy the last few weekends.

Re: Bought something new, wanna share it?
I thought about that too Shayne. Went with the indirect as that's what I'd seen others doing and it's somewhat familiar to my old way which was just roasting indirect on the wire grill rack like you mention. Thought about having some coals underneath for the smoke generated by dripping but didn't wa...

Re: Bought something new, wanna share it?
Got a chance to fire up the new weber rotisserie yesterday. After buying a step down transformer for it. So not a cheap excercise in the end (cost about $410 NZ all up). but the results were definitely worth it. Possibly the best chicken I've ever had, definitely the best skin! Pic from 3/4 through ...

Re: Weber kettles on Amazon or eBay international
Did you receive a 120volt motor with the rotisserie? If so have you had any dramas running it? Hasn't arrived yet Hogsy, should be here in a few days. Just arrived. Yes it does have a 120v motor with the US style plug. Looks like I'll be needing a step-down transormer. Didn't really think that one ...

Re: Weber kettles on Amazon or eBay international
Can you not buy the Kettle Rotisseries from an outlet in NZ??????? I just had a look on Amazon and the rough price is around $140US to buy. Add your $120 to to ship and its looking like costing approx $250 (give or take with conversion rates) Nope, not available anywhere here in NZ  Even rang ...

Re: Weber kettles on Amazon or eBay international
In case anyone is interested I recently purchased the Weber kettle rotisserie from Amazon and had it shipped via Shipito. Cost was $120 US for the shipping to NZ, so reckon it would be similar if not a little less to Aus. Also as an aside on prices, we recently had a large chain store here get some ...
