The Captain's Brined Roast Chicken
Hello All,
It has been a few years since I have cooked a brined chicken; so today was the day for one.
It was delicious!

Mate i'd tuck into that no probs...hard to go past the roast chook & veggies.
I find it hard to take a photo when its all served up cos by the time i get it up to this point....i'm bloody starving and its usually near finished before i remember to take the plated results

Looks really good.
I use the Captain's brine recipe too and find it makes a huge difference to the end result.
Usually I cook mine in the dragon with a vertical hanger and just a small chunck of cherry wood for added flavour.
Like you Davo, I struggle to get pics as I want to tuck in as soon a I can.

Thanks guys for the posts.
I agree, one must resist jumping into the meal and remember to take some photos before scoffing it down.

Funny that...due to buying a new computer recently, there was a few things I had to get off an external HD from back-ups I had done over the years and there it was...the Q Gormet Cook book lol.
Yeah I think the first roast I did on the Q was a chook...that was on my little Q120 about 12 years ago....geez time flies!!

My booklet was printed 6 years ago. Have found in the aussie bbq archives, my first chicken cook photos
Re: The Captain's Brined Roast Chicken
By the look of things the Captain's chook recipe is a winner according to the members of this forum.
Re: The Captain's Brined Roast Chicken
Brined chickens are great, imagine brining an American Turkey
The coles sell a lightly brined chicken thats pretty great, name escapes me.
Says lightly enhanced with water and salt etc
