Post by Buzabbq »

My name is Michael (Age over 50)
New to low and slow and charcoal cooking.
So happy to get any advice I can.
I love to tinker and currently looking to improve an Aldi Kettle I got for fathers day.
Would love to have a go at one of the Forum Only Competitions sometime

Welcome aboard, good to see more people from Newcastle myself included getting into the scene.

Lump charcoal by Emberpak is now sold at Quinlans BBQ for a reasonable price.

Country brewer in Maitland has different woods for smoking.

Not sure who your butcher is, but I have been using Harris Farms at Glendale or Dunns butchers in New Lambton, they are generally happy to do a cut of meat on request.

Thanks skippy, quinlans is just down the road from work and not far from home.....
How much they charging for the emberpak charcoal?

I've also been wanting to try some of Dunn's award winning snags....many of the flavoured ones i've bought in the past from other butchers have been way too salty.

Cheers

Dropped in to Quinlan's BBQ today, place is dark they need to take some of the advertising off the windows and let some light in.
$39.50 is the correct price for the Emberpak charcoal, they don't seem to be promoting the produce that much.
I didn't have much time so just had a quick snoop, will have to go back when I have more time.
