Looks great bob, I've got to do some more pastrami! Might use a brisket flat, also going to look at steaming it once smoked.

Cheers,

I was going to steam mine but ended up not bothering in the end (mainly because I need a new steamer :p ). Read a great tip about steaming slices in the microwave as you need it though. Slice it, place it between wet paper towel on a plate and chuck it in the microwave. Tried it with a couple of pieces yesterday and it seemed to do the trick.

For a second there Nath I thought that was vegetarian (please excuse my uncouth language), but then I spotted it, what sort of fish?

Green mango salad, and was a blue spot emperor from our northwest (WA) (much like a snapper)

Always great food to drool over in this thread. Have to be my favourite section to wander through. Everyone take a pound out of the till! :-)

Up to 55 pages in this chapter. Must be time to kick off section 12?

Cheers, Wayne

And thanks to the Buccaneer for starting this series of threads waaaaaay back then.

You thought I'd forgot, eh Bucc? :-)

G'day Wayne

Kinda agree, but can we really end this this thread on a non BBQ cook which may or may not be a Vege meal judging from the pics (no matter how good it looks)???? No offence to Nath, but questions are being asked..... :D

Sorry, couldn't resist.

But I'd be +1 for a new thread, I do like going through these threads and it's getting a bit long now. (just my 2c)

p.s. Didn't know Bucc's started these, great call on his behalf.

Rib Steaks - Cooked Sous Vide for 4 hours, then finished on Kettle.

Served them with some Mushrooms and Jacket Spuds that were cooked on the kettle as well.

Sorry about the iphone photos.

Hi Romulus,

I've not yet tried Rib eye in sous vide, that looks great. What did you have in the bag with the steaks?

Not bbq, and it's a few months old, but was cleaning out some photos and came across this one, thought some of you might like as it's a bit different.

Marron with truffles in beurre noisette (burnt butter) sauce. Was super yummy.

Made up some pulled pork rolls myself and my 11 year old daughter. She digs the Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Marron, thought I knew what that was having been on here for 6 years, but looked it up to be sure...what I would call Mud bugs or Crawdads, but I think much bigger...so even better! Yeah, I would like to sit down at your table one day! Truffles in beurre noisette is a little above my pay grade, but I bet I would really like both!

And if you all will educate me again, is there not something called a Yabba or the like, is it somewhat the same or is it more on the Lobster side?
