Weber Gas Grill Brush - Cleaning

Post by beachbum1971 »

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any experience in cleaning the Weber Grill Brush. I am getting a large build up of grease and such on the bristles that they become un-useable.

I know they are only $20ish however I am on my 4th & I can think of other accessories I would prefer to be investing in. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Justin

I drop my brushes in a bucket of Enzyme cleaner, laundry detergent will do at a pinch, then, when management wants the dishwasher cleaned and descaled, in they go on the heavy cycle, then I do the descale thing to get rid of any BBQ grease left in the dishwasher.

Excellent idea!
Presumably it's the same as the stuff that I use to keep my septic system running free & smelling sweet?

Half fill a bucket with hot water and add some washing up detergent. Submerge the brush up to the bottom of the handle and swish it around for a few minutes. That should clean it.
I use my brush to clean the trivet in the laundry tub with hot soapy water and the brush gets cleaned at the same time.

Any of those enzyme friends will do the job, we use a food grade one, read the bottles in the supermarket, you'll find one....tip.....look for an orange or citrus based product.

If you don't use food grade wash twice, the enzyme generally dies at 45 degrees C and the dishwasher is hotter than that.
