New Berties in St Helena

Post by mrjack »

I was out at the St Helena shops this morning (near Eltham/Greensborough in Melbourne), and I was most pleased to see that Bertie's butcher have opened a shop there.

I have never been to the Richmond store but hear people banging on about it here all the time. Bought some steaks and we'll see how that go.

I did see they had some brisket in the display. Is this the brisket you're always talking about? Looks different.

Anyway, am very excited that I've got another decent option for meat in my area.

That brisket is rolled, You can untie it and unroll for low and slow, our you could ask them for whole brisket.
12.99kg isn't the cheapest brisket though.

I'm a local also and noticed this a few weeks ago. I poked around for a look but wasn't meat shopping. How did you rate them?

I found their steaks and sausages to be tasty. Haven't bought any major cuts yet... But that will change soon. Their service was excellent.

I look forward to exploring their wares further.

I have been told pretty good things about them.

Their Richmond Store cooks Low & Slow on a Commercial Grade Pellet Cooker & have just recently upgraded to one over double the size, they sell their Barbecue out the back under "Little Berties"

Cool, I am in Mill Park. Will have to check them out. At least they will know the cuts I ask for. Unlike a few of the local butchers that look at you funny when you ask for beef ribs longer then 1" long!!!
