Any one got one or used one ?.
Re: First ever pellet kamado
Seems like over kill to me. Kamados are already great bbqs, and hold temp well from what i have read. Wouldnt really think a pellet power one would be necessary.

Re: First ever pellet kamado
I had a look at another video on YouTube which came up in the list and it was quite good. I don't doubt the product, just that the first video showed cooking lid up in all but one part, which is just crazy when you are trying to demonstrate what it can do. I hope you didn't think I was knocking the product or your post, quite the opposite, I'm a big kamado fan and I think a pellet version is really interesting.TMAN wrote:Have a look at a review or twoGumb wrote:Crap video, completely missed the point of cooking lid down

Re: First ever pellet kamado
Not at all. I have nothing to do with the product , it's interesting on another thread that questions the future of bbq and how technology is playing a part . I would have never thought a pellet kamado .it would be a fun gadget and something different , but I still prefer my Saffire .Gumb wrote:I had a look at another video on YouTube which came up in the list and it was quite good. Re: First ever pellet kamado
Had a look at the video.Interesting hybrid. One question, how much does it cost to feed it with pellets as opposed to charcoal?
Re: First ever pellet kamado
Charcoal in a kamado is about the cheapest bbq to run. The cost of pellets in the US is a lot less than here and hopefully that will change but pellets would be a lot more expensive than lump charcoal. I would imagine 2 or even 3 times as much but that's a guess, not based on any experience with a pellet kamado.
Re: First ever pellet kamado
maybe im a 'firebug' but i still prefer the idea of cooking with charcoal instead of pellets..

Yeah, at least 3 years that I am aware of Dave, we contacted them in late 2011 about a Performance Test. They wanted us to buy the unit, after I stopped laughing I said we would pass. A lot of Money for a small amount of cooking area!

Re: First ever pellet kamado
Maybe but I'm thinking they would be much more efficient on pellet usage since ceramic would hold the heat better.Bentley wrote: A lot of Money for a small amount of cooking area!
