Did you have a Father's Day BBQ?

Post by Emo »

I had a great afternoon at a local park with the kids and wife. After a lazy morning we decided a spur of the moment 'picnic' would be nice given the great weather in Melbourne today.
Mrs Emo wasn't quite sold on the idea of me bringing the GA, her idea was peanut butter sandwiches which just wouldn't cut it for me.
So I raided the freezer for some snags and wings, packed some lump and a few lighters (and some beers) and we were off.

This was my first time with the GA outside the backyard and was really impressed with how easy and convenient it is to take to a park and get going.

Not a BBQ per se, but I'm firing up the WFO for some pizza's tonight.
Had a trip to the zoo with the family and I think I brought home some monkeys by mistake :D , then for a spot of afternoon tea at the shopping centre.
All in all, a fantastic day for a Hallmark occasion.

There was more than a couple of comments from envious dads who liked the GA.

I had Two.

Sat. night my son came over with his girlfriend and we had the Captains brined chook on the Weber Baby Q and i also did some Yakatori skewers on my new Smokekings Dragon Hibachi.

Sunday i resurrected my old Weber kettle after inspiration from Davo in the cooking comp.
I had new handles from Weber which i attached, pressure washed it and then fired it up with a pork loin roast.

Pretty good Fathers Day barbie weekend.

Well, wasn't going to say but guess Emo's kids got lucky and inherited their mother's looks :)

They remind me of mine at that age, now all growed up, all I got was a coffee chat this father's day, but it was good to see them :)

That's ok mate, mine did as well.

I know it gets said so much but enjoy every second of their growing up, when you look back it all seems to go by in a blink. :)

I hauled my wife and two boys over to Mum and Dads for an over nighter.
Dad cooked a Bolar in his Q copy BBQ and Mum made a semolina cake / pudding.
Sunday I just chilaxed nursing a Barossa hangover,
Always good fun around the folks table, I'm blest I still got them.
