Boneless Pork Leg - Low and Slow?

Post by quasar85 »

I've got a boneless leg roast from Aldi that I'll be doing tomorrow, is it a suitable cut for a low and slow approach, or better for a more traditional roast style cook?

Also, any benefit in putting a rub of some sort on it?

I will also be doing one of those along with an Aldi Knuckle tomorrow, I will be using the snake method set at about 250F in my Kettle and the probe will tell when done because of the crackle I just like to salt and pepper it, good luck and have fun and drink beer

Pork Leg can be cooked slow, however it is a roasting cut, not a pulled Pork cut.

Thanks fellas, I didn't take pics this time but it turned out good. Gave it a rub of brown sugar, salt, pepper and garlic powder and let it go for half an hour at around 450F then closed both vents up till the Maverick hit 165F internal. Perfect crackling and the kids loved, probably a bit too dry but the gravy on the rolls fixed it :)
