Roast leg of lamb in weber question

Post by Soko »

Hi guys

Planning on roasting a leg of lamb in the weber , was thinking of of prob 20-25 heat beads a side ( indirect ) the usual Rosemary n garlic with a touch of olive oil , would any recommend water in the drip pan ??I was also wondering if maybe a little smoke perhaps just a couple pieces of on the coals migh be the go ?? Cheers

Hey mate, apologies for the delayed reply. I'll assume the lamb has been done and dusted by now and probably enjoyed. To answer your queries, depending on the size of the leg of lamb I run roughly 27-28 beads each side for a good heat early. Chars it up nicely. I've never used water in the pan in the kettle but don't see it would hurt if you did. Personally I don't think.lamb lends itself well to smoke, just the flavour the beads/fuel gives off. It's such a flavourful meat I think it would compete too hard. Happy to be proved wrong though. Good luck with it
