Fitting 3 chickens on Genesis E330

Post by Sheez »

Can anyone suggest the best way to cook 3 x Roast Chickens (appx 2.2kg each) on a Gen E330? (Standard captains brine).

I don't have the equipment to stand them up just yet (not sure if they fit standing up anyway), so wondering what orientation is best, and if I should avoid them touching (don't you need an airgap around the food for it to cook properly?).

Will use the the standard indirect setup left/right flames on low, middle off - but might have to place the chooks closer to the left/right side and worried that this will put them over the direct heat.

Also 1 x 2.2kg chicken tends to take 1 hour 15 minutes, so how much extra time do you think it will take? (Will still use a meat thermometer to check)
