2 Chickens 1 Stake

Post by dionysus32 »

Hi guys

This weekend I'm planning on cooking 2 chickens "captain style" over charcoal on the Cyprus BBQ..
Problem is I only have 1 set of prongs so is there a sure fire way to secure the chickens without a double prong or second set (which I just purchased today and probably won't arrive on time)??

I was thinking of using some metals skewers and foil the wooden handles not to burn or maybe tie them together??

Thanks
Dion

You can do it, you put the chickens nose to tail and push them together very tight.
If your unsure of them slipping, use a couple of cake probes to join them through the body, thighs to wing

Butchers string works as well to tie the two prongs together so they can't wander apart.

I've done them neck-to-neck before - tying around the wing elbows to join them to each other, then tying the wings down with string around the body of each one.

Yep, as per titch's advice, use your single set of prongs at each end, and secure the chooks together with metal (or even wooden) skewers.

I always do this so I don't have to clean the second set if prongs.
