The Shame! Aussie visitor here, huge roast with all the trimmings happening on the gasser (yes, I know there will be charcoal gloaters) and Fizzle.... No gas, despite gas meter saying more than half full! Everything had to be crammed into oven half way through and visitor has "told me so" with the stinging words, "Maaaaate, always carry a spare gas bottle."

/me does not trust technology for this type of thing.
/me tilts and swishes the gas bottle around. If there are signs of liquid, all is good. If not, then I make sure there is a full spare ready to be swapped in when the flames start to flicker.

I think we can announce the start of Summer and bbq season in the UK today! Sun is out and we have gone from winter rain coats to flesh baring ridiculousness in 24 hours. The smell of burning flesh (the bbq kind) will be in the air from tonight and supermarkets will be out of sausages and Fosters by the weekend.

Aaah Summer in the UK!

PS Peter, I will never trust the gas guage again.
PPS I may be announcing the end of Summer on Monday.

Hi BBQ mates

I somehow got back to Australia last year. Long story but glad to be home. Had to leave the old Weber behind in UK due to logistics and different gas fittings, but she’s been adopted in a good home by a Weber fanatic. Resale value was amazing (although being a fanatic myself, it was very clean!). So I am getting around to buying a replacement gas Weber here.

Looking forward to sharing recipes again.

When you say Gas Weber...do you mean Weber Q, Genesis or Summit?

Hi Davo
In UK I had the Weber Spirit Classic E310. Looking at the same again or possibly a Genesis. Will report back. Any opinions welcome.

If you can afford a Genesis, that'd be the one I would go for, they are much better these days now that they have the burners like regular Gas BBQs.
Like all Weber Products, it'll probably outlast you

Def welcome back...
I switched to the Weber Qs as the Genesis and Summit were a bit too expensive for me..
I now have 2 Weber Q's; 1 Aldi Smoker (the new one); 1 Aldi 6 burner and 1 Komodo Kamado..
Still luv cooking on the Weber Qs

Happy BBQ-ing, Paul

Cheers Paul, that is quite a collection you have going! I will look in to the smoker idea.
The Genesis is home and ready to be put together tomorrow. Can’t wait!
