tomato sauce powder
tomato sauce powder
Was just wondering if anyone has tried to do this i have some tomato sauce in the dehydrator at the moment and it seems to go more like fruit leather then dry so that i can make it into a powder. do you think if i leave it on long enough it will dry out enough or is that its final form?
Re: tomato sauce powder
I guess it can be done.
We use to carry Tomato powder with us when camping/touring. was light etc.
I have not seen it for years

Re: tomato sauce powder
Wonder if it's like the dehydrating gig. Remove the moisture when in season, store, then rehydrate with heaps of flavor in what ever.

Re: tomato sauce powder
Im wondering if freeze drying would be the way to make it a powder not dehydrating
chilling while grilling
Re: tomato sauce powder
freezedrying = the answer, same with mustard powder.
the reason is that heating vinegar (which is a big part of it) will make you loose that pop

Re: tomato sauce powder
i dehydrated mustard and it was fine the tomato didnt work i guess due to its sugar content?
