Temp for Pulled Lamb?
Re: Temp for Pulled Lamb?
Agreed Chris, Im thinking of his time factor. Dinner ready at 2200 hours
If trees screamed when we cut them down, We wouldn't. If they screamed all the time we would.

Re: Temp for Pulled Lamb?
Thanks for the advice everybody. I actually decided to go from a standard roast to a pulled lamb after I'd started.
I'm going to check it again in the next ad break and will wrap it in foil if it's not at temperature.
Cheers,
Ben

Checked the temp about 15 minutes ago. It was up to 172F internal temp, so I foiled it and will check it again in about an hour.

Just checked it. It's now at 180F so replaced the foil, threw on some more charcoal and will check again in another hour and a half. Right about on time for Smokey Mick's prediction!

Re: Temp for Pulled Lamb?
Ok, so went out there and checked temp. It was about 192F (my old school meat thermometer only goes to 190), so I triple wrapped it in foil as I only have the cheap thing kind from Aldi, and it is now sitting in the microwave, where it will rest for an hour before I pull it apart and put it in the fridge. I will write up a proper post with photos tomorrow.
Thanks to all for their advice.
Cheers,
Ben

Re: Temp for Pulled Lamb?
its been i for about 4 hours and already up to 150F. moving a little too quick for my liking.
i have closed the bottom vents to almost completely closed to try to slow it a bit.
have 3 shoulders in there each at around 1.1 - 1.3 kg each.
using snake method

What temp is the bbq at? Wouldn't worry to much about the speed, you may hit a stall soon. And once you get it near pulling temp. Hold it there for as long as possible.
