gday fellow aussie bbqers
seeing that i have caught the weber kettle bug and have a serious infliction the minister for war and finance or SWMBO has ordered that my number of bbqs on the back deck is letting down her bali theme on the deck so they must go

shes given permission to build GOLLYS GADIAL GANING

the plan is for a 20m2 area of dedicated kettle cooking
timber frame bearers and joists pitched roof colorbond clad also in colorbond

well with permission granted theres no time like now to start
first i need to find the sewer to cut into so i can have a sink



well after 20 mins digging ive found the sewer and its been exposed hogsys neighbour the plumber is coming
ive been scabbing through my plumbing section and have all but 1 fitting to get it out off the ground (so its off to dales 2nd home) whats your acc no lol
ive arrived back and the plumber is nearly done just waiting on my plumbfix
heres the plumbing done



the missus has decided to buy me some timber for our 10yr wedding anniversary
after hunting around and doing some deals ive come up trumps
timber arriving tomorrow

this is my first go at my own bbq area so im really keen for input on layout of cookers and what should be included in this build so please feel free to comment good or bad GOLLY

Lol... Give us a few ideas what your thinking so we can mull it over. Maximum bench space, sink, fridge would be my first thoughts

the timber has arrived


bought this as unsellable stock about 4k worth for $660 thanks SWMBO
heres what i got
treated pine
90x45 H3 66 lm
240x45 H3 6 lm
70x45 H3 5 lm
90x35 H3 80 lm
90x70 H4 62 lm
90x90 H4 3 lm
70x35 H3 165 lm
140x45 rad 68 lm
blue pine 90x45 H2 81 lm
blue pine 90x35 H2 27 lm

gee wizz some of tis timber is really bowed and twisted what have i done??
yet most of it is really quite useable and a bit is like new so all in all i think a sensational deal

so with the sewer,hot and cold water, natural gas and stormwater sorted the actual construction can begin

1st i restacked all the timber and hosed it down between layers and then put all the rachet straps i own on the packs (trying to straighten)

after a while of determining what i have timberwise and then deciding on which quantities will do each process actual construction has commenced

heres a pic of the actual floor area
the section over the grass has been laser levelled and concreted in and the wing on the concrete will be done when concrete is dry
this will then enable me to use te strap bracing to pull out all the un wanted bows in tne joists







here is the subfloor finished and braced off levelled and fixed down







next step will be to make the frames
