Okays have placed an order with Amazon for another gas smoker from USA.
Order placed 11pmish on Tuesday 14/6.
Delivery due to Mt. Waverley is this Friday.
So they tell me....should be a good watch & see.

I will say you have an even chance of it turning up, I ordered a top line spinning reel a few years back and was in my hands in 3 days but was ordered though a different company.
I am looking forward to when Amazon setup shop here in Oz. It is going to kick ebay in the sweet spot !

I only used normal freight too and that was an armnaleg...... but have just done a tracking check......definite for delivery by end of Friday
It has a window seat.
Maybe they are doing extra super service in the lead up to Aust. launch.
Keep you posted....should be an interesting exercise in service.

Well well well.....Yes they can tis in Melb.

Unbelievable the smoker HAS landed in Melbourne and has cleared customs for delivery. That means delivery will be tomorrow, I have no doubt!!
Can't complain about that for service. 3 days from the USA ...sort of eases the pain of the high freight cost. Maybe this was due to the upcoming launch of Amazon into Aust.
Wonder if it flew economy or fist class.

A mate of mine sends live fish for eating to Japan, from order to arrival takes 6 days and 3 of those are in a tank for quarantine before leaving Oz.....

So what was our dide bet again ha ha ha.

I'm away in the middle of no where and have 3G coverage, things are starting to improve around here.

Well they sure did .....63hrs from time of order to the front door!!!!
Not bad seeing estimate delivery date was 27/6--30/6. FMD...

Truly amazing if auspost were involved at all, it takes 240hrs for them to get a letter from here to 80km away.

No Aust. post involvement 220 that's for sure. Just Amazon trying to impress before they launch in Aust. no doubt.
I have had stuff arrive in Aust. before and then sit in space for longer than it took to get to Aust. because Aust Post is involved.
E.bay is gonna need to lift the game play that's for sure.

Hi,
So the smoker turned up super fast but had minor damage to the carton that was barely visible to the eye. Only discovered it as driver was about to leave....thank god......made him take a photo.
It had a small dent to this part and upon opening I found another minor dent to the cabinet area. No big deal with either dents.
Sent off an e.mail to Amazon this morning about this, and within 2 hrs offer of near $100.00 discount.
Think that is more than fair......thank you umpire!!!!!

Now that's what I Call Service both with the delivery and handling of the MINOR issue...

Well we know they did as posted earlier. And that was from the States.
NOW they are setting up shop in Australia/Melbourne....woohoo bring it on AMAZON. Looking forward to this.
This is gonna shake up the state of play for poor old E.Bay.
