Steak house in New York

Evening all,

I'll be heading over to New York in a couple of weeks. I'd like to check out a decent steak house while I'm in town.
Anyone here been out for awesome steak over there? Keen to get your recommendations... thanks

Well yeah, but it's NYC, they sort of migrate.

I THINK Anthony Bourdain's keynote place Les Halles is still in existence, been a few years but that was extraordinary.

Otherwise I'd rely on the hotel tbh, they are not always reliable but will give you some options.

I'm a heathen really with steaks in the States in general, the bad do not survive long, but first night in tbh I tend to just head for "TGIF," not expensive, consistent, good and a benchmark
