Vlado's Steakhouse Melbourne

Post by kiwiman »

Went with a few people the other night and based on reputation I was expecting a good evening.
The company was great, the food was in my opinion pretty average.
The main course steak was tender but didn't have a lot of flavour. I don't think it was seasoned prior to going on the grill and didn't have much of a crust.
A sausage on a plate by itself is not a well presented first course,I know this is their traditional way of doing it but they seriously need a rethink on presentation and sides with courses.
For $96 per person it was well below par. The next night I reverse seared Woolies rib-eyes on the Baby Q for steak sandwiches--far superior meal.

Just my opinion and no reflection on the people I was with---Stewart

I agree Stewart.

I was disappointed, we all should have asked Titch first

The company made the night for me :D

Have many fond memories at Vlados. New ones come and go and that place has been an institution for some time most would still aspire too. Hope they get things sorted out after the family loss.

As for advice, yep always prudent to ask a reputable local forum member. CS

:)

Had my 40th there, don't really recall too much, apart from strawberries for dessert :)

I do remember staff arrogance though, very Euro, surprised it still is in business tbh.

cheers
