My favorite gun is the 22 magnum for foxes/rabbits and the 222 for deer and roos.
Min calibre for deer in Vic is 234 or 270 depending on species, I can only assume the Roos are being culled on a permit? You wouldn't advertise the fact you're knocking over natives on a public forum surely!

Pretty much since my early teens I've shot rabbit, possum and stoat for fun.
Pretty much just killing pests, most was done with air rifles and bows back in the day
I own a .22 , 12 gague and have used every calibre known to man.
One day ill get a gun licence

We mainly hunt White Tail deer and small game around here. You have to have tags to legally harvest gator and deer. There are a lot of varmints too. Duck hunting is also huge. Ferrel pigs are a out of control what with them rooting up farmer crops and such. Pigs can breed almost as fast as rabbits. It's open season on them night or day year around. We also have a problem with Nutrias. A big swamp rat that borrows into our levee system. The state pays $5 a tail for them or used to anyway.

Kevin's post with Ted Nugent was cool. I wrote his people back during the 2008 presidential election saying he should run for vice president. I received a very nice reply saying that he has no political aspirations. I've seen him in concert several times over the years. In one concert here back in the late 70's he was in the middle of a song and someone threw an empty whiskey bottle on stage. He stopped mid-song and said "I can see you! I will come off this stage and whip your a$$ !" Cool Dude.

Lastly, Can someone tell me about the Roo hunting? Do y'all harvest them for food? Are they considered a pest?

Thanks!

Hi Toast,
Roo's are culled so they don't get out of control!

Depending on how they are killed, a lot go to pet food, but we can also buy Roo in our supermarkets.

For obvious reasons, nobody has been able to farm them!
