Hi all, I'm looking at getting a cast iron chiminea for nothing more than keeping warm on the back deck. I love the look of the heatwave ones but could never afford or justify that much for something that will only be used in winter to keep warm outside.
So I've found 2 cheaper options one is called Fuego Chiminea and a place in Carrum has 1 the other is called Argon by Schots. Both are about $700 so I want it to last a sight longer than the 3 year warranty. My problem with both though is the seam on the fire bowl. They both have been cast in 4 pieces and stuck together. Does anyone have one and care to share some thoughts? I really don't care about the bbq function, I have a wood fired smoker which can do pizza, rotisserie and a 6 burner so just after the heat.
Clay is kinda of a bad idea as the little one likes to bang and throw stuff and has already put a crack on the current little Chiminea so I'm after something that is stronger and can withstand a rip roaring hot fire to throw some good heat (and the little ones tamper tantrums).
