Re: WHAT DID YOU COOK PART~III
I have been a BBQ addict for a few years however I pale into insignificance compared to what I have seen on here!
Won my first Weber Kettle in a Bottlo comp while buying a house warming present for someone (Johnny Walker not for own consumption = good Karma!) Took it down to my holiday van on the Sth Coast, while picking up heat beads at Galores I couldn't say no to the Weber Wok they had on display - got it cheap as they ordered it for someone who changed their mind so took it back for Fish!!
I usually do my snapper this way, peanut oil in the Wok, stuffed with prawns and shallots, lightly rubbed with OO and small amount of salt.
This one was with a stir fry mix, gets the neighbors in the Van park into full on sticky beak mode whenever I fire it up.
First ever cook on it was a pork roast, put it on and took the kids up to the pool for a swim. Got out after about 40 min and thought U'oh... I could smell my roast from 500m away! I was informed by 3 of my neighbors that van park etiquette is that if they can smell it they get to have some! Have often done big cooks of lamb for the group so they are sweet.
Recently upgraded the Gas unit with a runout Kmart job, this was $100 as it was missing the bolts! No kitchen in the van so I am in heaven as the is no choice but BBQ brekky, lunch and dinner!
Not really putting this up to brag but to keep as a timeline for myself. This is from Before Aussie BBQ Forum. You guys have really inspired me to pick up my game so will be much more adventurous after this!!
Cheers!!

So tonight i had waygu burgers, the highlights
Whole waygu beef patties
Home smoked and cured bacon (The good stuff, american dave approved)
Home grown egg
Some pics
I use the American Mayo all the time (Why does all Aussie mayo have to have vinigar and mustard in it!...tastes like crap!), S&W, Best Foods or Hellmans, if you blokes hav'nt tried these get a jar from the supermarket and make some cold roast chicken Sangas, mix some dill and pepper into the mayo! Heaven!

I can't believe I had to look half way down the page to find this thread. I don't think I've ever had to do that before.
I grilled up some roadside chicken from this recipe http://tvwbb.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/488 ... 9740028563
I have a grill plate from my 4 burner that I had cut in half length ways and I put that onto the weber grill. I used half heatbeads half charcoal. I put some potatoes next to the coals then put the chicken on
I burnt the skin a bit, it was only my second time grilling on the weber.
I also grilled some prawns. Don't have a pic of them on the grill but here it is plated
The chicken was so nice. Will definately do this recipe again

Simple little dish tonight,
Satay beef
Im working on the satay , Have been for years.
My secret ingreedient is ground down canned bambo shoots.
I also added coconut shell to the smoker box and this just made it.
More on how I got that later.

Re: WHAT DID YOU COOK PART~III
I think Mick is talking about Smushed UP (Technical Term) canned Bamboo shoots in the Satay Paste.
then:
Coconut shells as a smoking wood.
I can see how that works!

5 to 10 filets of anchovies packed in olive oil, drained

The horse and mule live thirty years
And never knows of wines and beers.
The goat and sheep at twenty die
Without a taste of scotch or rye.
The cow drinks water by the ton
And at eighteen is mostly done.
The dog at fifteen cashes in
Without the aid of rum or gin.
The modest, sober, bone-dry hen
Lays eggs for noggs and dies at ten.
But sinful, ginful, rum-soaked men
Survive three-score years and ten.
But some of the squirrels...though a titch few
Stay pickled 'til they're ninety-two.
Happy Birthday Titch
