Roughing it

Post by Meatfirewood »

Been a bit lucky i suppose ,been on the road last few weeks up in the nt with the family done a few cooks ,the meat part over the coals with a black iron pan . One night i did some pork chops over desert oak coals this was to satisfy my curiosity about that kind of wood i guess . I carry a long handled shovel so was able to cook on the ground very basic really it felt good to be out there looking up into the night sky , now back to the chops the better half done some ziplock bags with different rubs etc made my job easy , on went the pork rub and into the pan they went i have to confess that pork chops have given me grief with being overcooked in the past not so this tme good colour and still juicy enough all this was possible because i borrowed the sons headlight torch good bit of gear for the outdoor cook. sorry no pics ive got to get my head around that and, regards to all .
Hope to be up at nth burleigh when the comp is on !

Sounds great. Some real outback cooking. Uploading some pictures is pretty easy. It would be a real treat seeing some photos of the trip.
