Can anyone recommend any DIY pizza oven kit that can be purchased in Melbourne?
I've looked around and found a few for sale on ebay and a company called MelbourneFireBricks which seems pretty good.
I've decided to take the plunge and started my research for a good kit that will hopefully stand the test of time.

Did you want to build it brick by brick or build a base and out a cast dome on it?

I either want a brick by brick (pre cut as I don't want to have to cut all the bricks) or a pre cast dome that is either in 1 or 2 pieces or whole.Groovy Gorilla wrote:Did you want to build it brick by brick or build a base and out a cast dome on it?

You dont have to be neat with brick cuts
The cut edge is outside and gets covered in insulation, so you only need to cut them in half except for the last few at the top and the entry.
Some go crazy and skim angles to get a tighter fit on the curves but really the inside dome is al you will see and they should touch with minimal mortar.
Easiest will be bigger cast pieces if your not handy
Or if you dont want to cut, clay over a sand mould will do it too, just as good if insulated and protected from the elements.
Major factor to consider is mass to hold heat and insulation to maintain it.
It should be an igloo totally insulated top and bottom
If its not you will be chopping a lot more wood

Gday
Their d105 kit is just that, a good piece of kit comes precut with all the guides and insulation.

Is a link to for formo bravo, the Aussie section that has more than 1 of these ovens. My personal opinion is if you want to build your own you can't get a better kit.
Regards dave

Sorry about the link not working. The forno bravo forum has reciently had an upgrade and you can't seem to get a link?
Crazy but it's still worth your time to find the forno bravo forum and check out the Australian section there are two builds both on d105 ovens both on the first page.
