I did some wood fired pizza in the webber last night which was good but seeing if anyone can answer these questions for me.
I used hardwood and lit it in my webber charcoal holders with a pizza stone but could only get it to about 170deg.
Can I light a big ass fire in the bottom of my webber to get some good coals and heat or will it ruin my Kettle?
Any tips would be great.

Lukey,
You can indeed light a big ass fire in your Weber kettle, firewood burns hotter than charcoal, charcoal burns hotter than beads.
Cheers

Thanks Chris,
Can I light it directly in the bottom or should I light it a first rack the same as normal?

same as normal, the charcoal grate is thee so your fire can get air under it and breathe better.
