Hi guys,
Was floating around Bunnings and spotted this in a Sydney store. I've read good things about the people who own Pit Boss (Dansons), they make the Louisiana pellet grills.
Here's a link to the photo: https://imgur.com/a/gTeXT8d
Just wanting to see if anyone has got one of these bad-boys and what their thoughts are? Ive read a few reviews on another forum and also amazingribs did a review, mainly good words, although a couple of people had said they werent entirely happy with their purchase as it seems to have some temperature fluctuations of upto 20 degrees Celsius

Hi
At the end of the day you really do get what you pay for, so buy the best grill that your pocket will alow
After importing and cooking on Pellet BBQs in Australia for almost 7 years now the best advice I can give you is the following:
Don’t EVER buy a pellet grill online without viewing it first. Go to the retail stores and have a look at all the pellet grill brands as they are certainly not created equal
Definitely pull out all the cooking racks and heat diffusers and look at the diameter and length of the auger, in my opinion a large diameter, short auger is far better than long and small diameter auger.
Look at the size of the fire pit / fire crucible and the grills with the larger fire pit will High Temp grill , and do an amazing job of it. Only 2 brands of pellet grills imported into Australia have short, large augers feeding to a large fire pit and designed to high temp grill
Last thing is to look for Australia compliance and then build quality
Disclaimer, I import both Louisiana and Yoder brands into Australia and the above information is the main reasons why I chose to do so.
At the end of the day folks cooking on any brand will tell you theirs is the best, so take all advice on board as biased
Also watch out for other retailers giving false information, as this seems to be a common practice with some.
Good luck with your journey and feel free to email me if you need any assistance with the brands I import
Cheers Dave
