I'd definitely be using them. As I noted above, my mate buys redgum firewood to use in his backyard wood-fired oven, and the Pizzas are fantastic.

If they are ex train line sleepers I wouldn't .
Rail tracks are sprayed with nasty juju.
If trees screamed when we cut them down, We wouldn't. If they screamed all the time we would.

Nah they are 2 inch ones.
Might use a bit next time I roast some beef.
