Silver Creek Offset – First Cook

Post by Card Shark »

Nice sunny day here on the Goldy. Small cook first time:- Chucky about 2kg and later a few stuffed capsicums. Fire basket was started with maybe 2 bucket loads of gidgee. Then 4 forearm sized chunks of iron bark on top. Got the party started with a camping burner directly under. Almost an hour of smoke thereafter before the flume cleared and the cook started.

Had an issue connecting to the rocks blower temp controller Wi-Fi. Issue was my side breaking a bit off the router ariel. Didn’t connect the blower but the other temp stats on the free stokerlog software were worth an effort so ran a 30 foot cat 6 across the lawn.

2kg chucky, injected with homemade beef stock and horse radish. Rub was nothing spesh, a bitza, as was the spritz.

Veg went in a few hours before anticipated stumps

Caps came up nice

Gotta agree, looks great. Love the stuffed capsicums! I'm gonna have to give those a shot some time soon!

Nice work.
Also, don't bother with the stoker wifi. Stick with the cat6.
Great to put a face to the name today and look forward to seeing you cook up a storm at the next comp ;)

Good to finally meet you blokes too. Congrats on the comp placings and really enjoyed tasting all of the comp cooks! Maybe a thread on that brisket some time. Have not sampled better burnt ends.

Our teams secret is actually from Dave from grill pro.
Copious amounts of red wine.

Happy to give you the recipe though but I suspect that it comes down to the quality of the brisket in this case
