How do you burn your sticks?

Post by waterboy »

Thought I'd start a topic on burning wood after Chris from urbangriller suggested that a cast iron hibachi could be used for wood fired cooking.

Wood burners tend to be creative bunch so please post your photos of your wood burners.

The story behind that stick burner is quite interesting.
Actually designed as a life saver for poverty stricken communities in disheveled countries.
Actor Mat Damon is also doing real stuff with water.org.
If trees screamed when we cut them down, We wouldn't. If they screamed all the time we would.

Is that the stove that uses a small solar panel to help aid combustion to reduce the incidence of respitory disease?

What's it like to cook on?

It's great to cook on, easy to control and just uses sticks so there is no longer a need to travel long distances to get firewood, more time for agriculture, education and the like. Can also be setup to use charcoal.

As Mick says, designed to be efficient and clean, to reduce the death toll from smoke inhalation from cooking on an open fire inside huts.
We don’t sell them anymore, but when we sold one, another one was shipped to a family in need in a third world country.
