I thought people may have posted some results by now.
I can't because the Fab One has banned me from baking bread, no carbs or some such.
Searched for some pics and found these.
Baguettes
Due to laziness and these came up first, these are cooked by a mate using the same method of no knead, but an oven. He is an experienced home baker, just this method is new to him.

Those pics are mine, of my baking, and the other are of my good mate's efforts.

Re: Artisan Breads & No Knead Ideas
I misread the recipe and thought I only needed 2 days (didn't see the leave out of fridge for 24 hours part)
Was planning to cook a loaf for mother's day so started it 10pm last night (Thursday).
My plan is to fridge the loaf at 10pm tonight (Friday) and bring it out about 7am(or 8, whenever i wake up) Sunday. If it rests at room temp for 2 hours, is that going to be enough time?

Re: Artisan Breads & No Knead Ideas
You need 24 hours out of the fridge, absolutely.
You can't mix and refrigerate, that won't work.
If it has been 24 hours and you put it in tonight, you will get a good loaf but lacking the flavour development that the longer refrigerated time develops.
Yes, do it.

I missed the shenanigans but it's only bread, I can't believe there was a ruckus???
Everyone give themselves an uppercut
Buc the bread looks great,,,,for me but I need to make Country tank loaves that can be sliced and made into school sangas the kids will actually eat.

If trees screamed when we cut them down, We wouldn't. If they screamed all the time we would.

This isn't for you, sandwich bread is a different breed Mike...or a different 'bread'..groan.
Ive given the recipe and method.
Up to the punters to try it out.
I think the earlier was just a misunderstanding.
Thanks for the positive comment on the bread Mike!

Re: Artisan Breads & No Knead Ideas
I left it out of the fridge for 24 hrs after mixing but only meant I forgot that step when figuring out my timing. So now I don't have as manydays with it in the fridge.
Also wondering if 2hrs is Ok Sunday morning to bring out of fridge
Cheers

Re: Artisan Breads & No Knead Ideas
Finally get around to posting up a pic or two of our attempt at Buccs Bread
For a first go we're pretty happy with the way it turned out although there was a string of hiccups along the way. Firstly I went to the local Pantryman store to get the flour. With no idea of what I was looking for I grabbed exactly half as much as I needed of "Bakers Flour" might be right, might not? Got home and realised I was short so mixed in some regular plain flour All went well until we tried cooking it in the Hark. Couldn't seem to get the temp up as high as Bucc suggested so went with the 98degrees internal.
The second lot went on a 4wheel driving trip down to the mouth of the Broke Inlet with the idea that I'd flash it up on the Baby q while we were there. Unfortunately the weather came in pretty bad so we left Broke and headed for the Collie area and hit some hillclimbs, got bogged a bit, winched out etc. You know the usual 4WD Boys trip So no time to cook it up took it back home three days later and baked it then. By now it's a week or so old and done 1500kms in the fridge in the Patrol. Came out pretty good we thought.
Cheers, Wayne and Jan
