Baby Q Temperature

Post by Pete101943 »

How do l keep my Baby Q under 200c for slow cooking? At present, l have to lift the lid every so often, even though the Q is on low.
Is there an easier way?

can you keep the lid held up a few inches (mm's, Cm's etc) with a piece metal etc so the heat escapes slowly

Yeah Mainey you can keep the lid up a bit but really, the baby Q is not designed for low n slow, the lid is too shallow and the cooking area is designed for hot n fast.

If you want low n slow on a budget, for $169.00 you can buy a Weber Jumbo Joe Kettle brand new...the size fits in between the smoky joe and the 22.5 inch kettle.

These are the bee's knees for low n slow by using a low amount of coals....

Don't do what others do and play around with the tank tap on the Q.....very dangerous.

Cheers and Merry Xmas mate
