Beefeater control Knobs

Post by gerlep »

Just wondering if anyone can help, two of my control knobs are igniting, but can't move the dial any further, so obviously need replaced or fixed. For the life of me I can't work out how to remove them, and can't find a how-to online. Anyone offer any advice? thx

G'day and welcome to the forum. It would greatly assist everyone whom you seek help from if you could let us know the model of your BBQ.
I had an old one many years ago and the knobs were a 'press fit'. Once the knobs had been removed, there was a small plate with 2 phillips head screws, which you removed to gain access to the gas valve.
Hope that helps,
Steve.

There should be an obvious process of reverse assembly. But something I thought of that might help is if the knobs just pull off, You could try spraying an electrical contact cleaner that is lightly oiled. Get it down past the shafts while turning them with pliers. Jay Car has the product, I use it on electric guitar and amp pots.
Beware a one Barbecue man, He probably knows how to use it!

This may not be your exact model of Beefeater but this is from the Signiture series which i think the Proline is a part of, so i think this manual may give you some guidance on what to do, I think they'd have pretty much the same set up with Burners and such.
