Grill Pro,
when you say grill grates, it looks like it is this product?
http://grillgrate.com/grill_grate_products.htm

are they any good?, any better than standard cast iron grates?

Hi, yes this is the product.

Grill Grates are absolutely amazing & they produce the best steaks I havce ever cooked by a country mile. You just need to get them up to a nice high temp first, at least 500F to get a really good result. These Grill Grates work exceptionally well with the Yoder YS480 & YS640 because of the size of their fire pits & the high temp that they produce.

I believe that you can replace your existing cast iron grates with these & I would definitely do this if I were you, these are far supierior to any cast iron grates in my opinion.

You will have better steaks even if you sit them on top of your existing cast iron grates.

We will have the Grill Grates cooking at the Melbourne BBQ Festival in March.

Cheers, Dave

A couple of nice blokes from the Aussie BBQ Forum turned up just before we pulled the Pork & Lamb ( Great timing guys :D ) It was great to share the slow cooked meats off the Yoder YS640 Comp Cart Pellet cooker with them, great times!

YODER Pellet Grills in Australia

Post by greeny03 »

Cheers Dave! ;). I have to say it was absolutely magnificent!! The Yoder is definitely the Ducks Guts in my opinion. This is the first time we have seen a pellet cooker! We are both very impressed with what the Yoder presents as a product! The build quality, even though I have not seen another, is outstanding. The strength and welds are perfect, and the operation of the unit was very simplistic. Overall you can tell some thought has gone into this product.
Again we thank you for your hospitality and letting us sample some fine meat produced off of a Yoder! If anyone is thinking of buying a pellet cooker, please look at a Yoder, you won't be disappointed!! ;)

Now I have to twist swmbo arm!
