I dont have a ceramic egg but I have 2 Akorns, so i cant compare for you,
what I do like is, I can relocate the Akorns in the back of my Work van easily and not worry about breaking them
I can get drunk and let the fire get away from me and not worry about the fire bowl cracking
I can turn out food that impresses my friends from the Akorns.
Probably no help but thats all I got for you

If you are going on price the Akorn is the best value around for $499 from Bunnings. You get 20 inch diameter grill, deflector, grill extender, side tables and cover. It is metal so you don't have to worry too much about things like cracking the ceramic. Bunnings also sells a 18 inch diameter grill ceramic @$800. About the same price you can get a 24 inch grill diameter ceramic from Costco. This is the best value for size ceramic around. It is BIG and heavy.

I have written a few posts about Kamados.
