If trees screamed when we cut them down, We wouldn't. If they screamed all the time we would.

They do have a 60 day return policy. Can make a hell of a lot of snags in 60 days.
Seriously though, it needs to have the power, be solid enough to take the beating of sausage making, the blade needs to have a good fit to the plate so gristle doesn't get all gnarled up in there.
In any case, trim chewy bits off the meat, have it real cold and make sure the pieces of meat aren't too big.

That is advice from someone who has ground some meat before. It is the best thing you can do, meat prep is one of the most important pars of any grind. Meat should be almost semi-frozen!

I've seen one work stuffing sausages and frankly they don't work for that, unless you count a lot of noise, smeared fat and massage working. Also I suspect the one I saw trying to work mincing had not had the blade sharpened in living memory. Can you sharpen and get spare blades for these?
If not, I would suggest you get a decent hand mincer instead.

Are the slicers really that dangerous?
My local Aldi has them for $30 and I'm thinking of trying one out

Maybe not dangerous if your sharp savy but they have plastic drive gears and mine stripped out.Hogsy wrote:Are the slicers really that dangerous?

OK for soft stuff like bread or hot soft meats.
Slicing salamis killed mine, Totally stripped the gears.
And they were only 65mm dia salamis.
I was tempted to get another but left them on the shelf, waste of thirty dollars.
Next one up is a sunbeam but at $190 ish , That's a gamble and I' cannot find how good the drive gears are.
Really bummed as I've got a coppa cola to slice up.
You I in the same boat
