heat resistance

hi all,dont think this is the right section but here goes,im building an outdoor covered bbq area half walls and all,itll be done out of timber with bbqs dropped in to suit,bbqs will be at least 100mm away from any timber but im still worried,what material could i use for heat resistance,ive seen aerosol paints but only for metal that are heat resistant ,dont want to tile it all,any suggestions?
