Smartfire - Pit Controller

Post by DAK »

Hi Guy's

Im about to fork out $400 for a Guru CyberQ. In trawling the net tonight I read on Facebook that an Aussie product called Smartfire was due for launch late this year.

Details are thin online. Does anyone know anything about it ? I'd prefer to buy Aussie and support a local business if the features are the same/similar.

Detail's below:

Thanks

Controlled by phone app, not a fan of that. It does look pretty sleek, but it would get pretty filthy pretty quick. I'd go with one of wangs devices.

Hi,

Mark from Smartfire here. Apologies for not replying earlier!

I've carefully read the forum rules and I'm presuming content that could be viewed as advertising is allowed in this 'Product/Gadgets/Tools Suppliers' thread. Please let me know / delete if I've misread the directions.

Some good news is Smartfire controllers are available for purchase at http://smartfirebbq.com?discount=SMARTFIRE-BN12P9-50 (that code will give you $50 off!) and the FB group at http://facebook.com/smartfirebbq is quite active.

I'm happy to field questions, either via PM or FB or via the site contact form.

I'd quickly comment that the features are better than a Guru CyberQ for half the cost landed here in Australia. It also doesn't get particularly dirty like one of the posters was worried by, sure avoid handling it with hands covered with ash or brisket drippings, but normal use after a year of testing has shown just being near the pit doesn't get it dirty and sensible handling and a chux wipe occasionally means its maintained in great condition.

Thanks for the interest!
