Re: New Budget Price Pro Offset BBQ Smoker
I need to stop looking at this as its giving me second thoughts on my proQ Excel Elite 20 I am really hoping I am buying the right pit to start with, I am all ways going to end up with both just need to wait 6 months for the other, and I think the pro q will give me less head aces to start with, but dam I like the look of an off set chugging along in the back yard

The ProQ is set and forget, an Offset needs you to keep tending it every 45 min to hour or so!steinyboys wrote:I need to stop looking at this as its giving me second thoughts on my proQ Excel Elite 20 I am really hoping I am buying the right pit to start with, I am all ways going to end up with both just need to wait 6 months for the other, and I think the pro q will give me less head aces to start with, but dam I like the look of an off set chugging along in the back yard

Which makes it the perfect cooker for a Sunday of drinking beers and watching the fire (or in most cases getting up every time the Maverick beeps to remind you to tend to the fire). Great for when the girlfriend gets home and you say you would have cleaned the house a bit but spent all day cooking (when in reality you spent all day in front of the TV drinking beer :p )urbangriller wrote:

And is the reason having both sitting in my backyard to play with makes so much sense, One to set and forget and cook great tucker, and one the boys can stand around all day and stick bits of wood in and talk chit and drink beer around Ahhhh wouldn't it be nice

I just took a few shots with a full size hotel pan in the bottom to see how it would work as a steambath and heat sink.Nath wrote:Love that shot down the barrel into fire chamber

Plenty of air space under and over the pan, you can see the sliding tuning plates and the cooking grill above.

Any more feedback on this model? Has anyone spent much time cooking on one of these yet?
