ET 733 - 14 Months = Faulty

Post by Card Shark »

Not having much luck with these. Returned 2 x 732s, the present 733 main unit just out of warranty now is non responsive from any front button and just stays on flashing default numbers unless removing batteries. The rear reset button does nothing. The remote receiver still goes strong so at least don't have to lift the lid to probe seeing food and pit temps, but that's a poor consolation. Expensive BBQ monitoring for just over a year for perhaps a dozen cooks.... Interestingly my old ET 72 has proven the most reliable. CS

I don't get anywhere near the failure rate you guys are talking about.....Maverick would be out of business if they failed at that rate.

I've got an ET732 that I've used in BBQ School for 5 years, never even had a probe die!

Same here, my 732 has been running for 3 years with no problems.

Wonder if the tropical environment has something to do with it?

Old post... Maybe it's the environment where they make them. I read many in the states have similar experiences. Shame. Must be luck of the draw with Q+A in China. Haven't had a problem with their earlier ET 72s.
