At the request of work colleagues who have seen pics of the 3 times I have used it, I picked up 4 more from a local Bunnings (all the stock they had left) at $20 each. One was an obvious return, as it had "does not fit Weber" written on the box in texta, and I found a receipt in the box dated November 2014, for $99.
I also visited this place on friday and picked up a selection of fire brick/tiles for my refinements:

What a great bunch of guys. Helpful advice about the bricks, and a keen interest in anything to do with BBQ & Pizza cooking (they sell WFO kits, and have 2 working demos on display).

"I drilled a new hole for the thermometer, and mounted it a little lower. No pics of these, but you can see the bolts in the pic after the next."
poor my English. Finally I think I know how you do it.
But why not Pizzaria seals the top directly.
and even supplies a stainless steel sheet to replace your foil.
and lower total height

I search youtube and find this Weber Original Charcoal Pizza Oven
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9X3UROLQWY
It is exactly what I thought about
Maybe pizzeria simply tries to avoid original Weber.
IMO this Weber original is better than pizzeria

That Weber pizza attachment isn't available in Australia, and it's prohibitive to try an import one.
It has been available in Europe for several years.
The smash pizzeria is a blatant copy of the kettle pizza attachment:

Chris
price of kettlePizza on Amazon is US$129 for basic kit.
AU$10.95 for Pizzeria, it must be hard to cover the cost
I guess that sale of Pizzeria must be very poor.
There must be the big drawback of design.
Yes you can bake a good Pizza from Pizzeria or KettlePizza.
But it needs care and skill and wastes extra wood.
Indeed if you stand beside and care all the time by hands, you can back pizza on camping fire too.
You need only to pick up a few pieces of stone, which is cost free.
My prototype will be ready next Monday.
Let us see whether it works or not.
By "works" I mean roughly same temp. on bottom and upper sides, much less care by hands.
The bottom shall be golden brown other than char black, and upper topping is well cooked too.
and you do not need to rotate the pizza when baking.

The reason it is cheap is not poor design. It works well with very few (and inexpensive) modifications.
The reason it is cheap, is because it doesn't fit the weber kettle, which is a huge percentage of the market it is aimed at, and Bunnings have had many returns from customers who bought them, only to find they didn't fit.
It is cheaper to sell "defective" goods at a very low cost, and delete the line. The importer possibly even just wrote them off as a bad experience, credited Bunnings for their purchase, and told Bunnings to do what they liked - sell or scrap.
This is a very common problem in Australia with goods made in China and dumped here at a dollar point.
Often times they are not quite fit for purpose, or the manufacturer in China overlooks something very crucial.
It's in all goods, not just bbq stuff. Reproduction parts for classic cars are far worse.
The other problem is consistency - the prototypes may look good and meet spec, but this is purely to meet sign-off, and the production run varies dramatically. This has happened to me both personally (colour was crucial, and the prototypes were perfect, but production items were completely different) and with the company I work for (too many examples to list).
This is why my company sent an American to Shanghai to run our plant there.

Thanks. I see that Pizzeria just sells it as scrape.
You can buy an electrical saw and drill and make modification.
The total cost must be still much cheaper than KettlePizza
Regarding made in China it is our bad tradition.
When bidding for a project, every one tries to offer price as low as possible, more often than not lower than the real cost.
To earn profit they will lower quality. Say the wall thickness is supposed to be 1 mm, but indeed they make it 0.8 or even 0.6 mm.
But a few honest manufacturers become real world class giant.
Say most iPhone are made in China for the whole world market

I think this was just a case of bad design, they had everything right, just didn't measure a Weber Kettle to make it fit that as well as the El-Cheapo Bunnings version, I think it fits the European Chef kettle by Serendipity rather than design.
I think China suffers from the historical bad reputation Wang describes (Korea used to as well), but I think China is slowly rising above that.
Cheers
Chris

Innaloo (WA) Bunnings has them for $5 at the moment (at least they did over Easter) in case any Perth Weberererers want to have a tinker with them.
