You've achieved something very impressive there Eric, your data speaks for itself. I've have never seen a similar video posted by sellers of competing products. If you made something similar for a weber I would definitely be interested (if i had a BGE I'd be interested in the device in its current form!).

Have you considered putting this on kickstarter?

[edit] was thinking about your design - have you considered making the vent cover toothed so it could be turned by a geared mechanism? You could potentially increase reliability that way and reduce strain on the motor.

Howdy

So, I pride myself on following through on a project. That said, I didn't realize how BIG the project really was. But - because everybody has been so encouraging about this concept, I've pushed it through to _almost_ being a real live product!

You can see an updated video about it here: http://www.smobot.com/

To try to get over the finish line to a real product, I'm hosting a kickstarter campaign (as you'd suggested) which starts on Wednesday March 8th, at 12PM. I'm hoping you guys will check it out, and see what your encouragement and interest have produced.

Thanks so much for all the kind words and enthusiasm!

Kind regards,
Eric
