New GA to add to the stable

Post by Hitman »

Hey guys been a while since last post.
Anyways on Father's Day I scored a surprise pressie I wasn't expecting.
A while back I helped one of mums friends save herself dropping about $35k on a camper trailer from this guy as it just seemed all a bit dodgy, turns out eBay agreed and he was done for fraud or something. Anyway long story short this last was at mums when I visited her about a month back and we were all talking and subject turned on to BBQ (as it does).

I said is been trawling eBay and Gumtree for a cheap or free weber to get into charcoal and do some low and slow and some smoking. Said I hadn't found the right one yet and this lady says "oh I think I have one at home under the house you can have, it's square and I think it's a weber"

For the life of me I couldn't think of a square weber but said sure if it's charcoal and like one it will do for free.

Well Father's Day my mum comes round and says she has that BBQ for me from the lady.

Well wasn't I surprised

It was brand new and still in an unopened box and not a mark on it. I assembled and It's got AA on the vents so it's a 2011 model! WiN!!!!!!

Now need to find some stuff to cut my teeth on it with as it's going to be different to the Q. I really want to do my own bacon and maybe even try making some beef jerky on it and some other things.

There's a guy in Italy who does some amazing stuff with his G.A.
Here's a few links to his builds and cooks

Holy cow that is brilliant! I want one! He better be careful, weber might steal his ideas.
