Hi Guys
I have watched people on youtube making their own charcoal. Curious if anyone here has done it ? how they did it ? and was it successful ? and is it worth the effort ?
Making your own charcoal
Re: Making your own charcoal
Not worth it for a one off.
Only think about it if you have lots of wood to burn. time and a means to sell it.
Selling price should be around $1.50 per kg.
Not much profit in it.
What sort of lump charcoal are you thinking of making?

You need a bloody big open space because if you didn't know about smoke before, you certainly will when making charcoal.

I've done it a couple of times but is a bit time consuming and not a process for doing in a residential back yard unless you use gas for heat.
