Weber 22 vs. 26 inch - for Slow N Sear

Post by DodgySheep »

Almost certainly a really stupid question, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

I have a Weber Original Premium Kettle - https://www.weberbbq.com.au/barbecues/c ... tem-grill/ The measurements say size 57cm, width 69cm. I kind of figure that the 57cm (so ~22.5 inch) is the diameter of the circular cook surface/lid?

The reason I ask is that I'm keen to buy a 'Slow N Sear,' but all things in America being more complicated they talk about two different sizes of weber - 22 and 26 inch - and I don't think I've ever seen this variation in Aus. So are all the Aussie Webers the 22inch option? You can't actually look at the American Weber site as it just takes you to the Aussie site.

Anyone here use a Slow N Sear?

G'day DS,
firstly, there's no such thing as a stupid question, except the one that's not asked.
The Weber kettles that are most freely available in Aus are the 22.5 inch/57cm model. The 26 inch model, I think is called the ranch, which has some serious q'ing real estate. The width measurement of 69cm on the kettle in the link will be from one handle to the bottom of front leg.
I've never used a 'slow and sear', but I've read some good reports on them.
All the best,
Steve.

I am in the US and do use a Slow N Sear in my Weber 22-1/2" kettle. That company also makes one for the Weber 26" kettle and also for the Weber Rancher which is a 36" kettle.

I really like the product and use it often. If you have any questions on how it works or cooks, just ask and I will try to answer or get you an answer.
