Cobb Grill

Post by Old Dave »

I was wondering if many of you down under folks cook on a Cobb Grill?

They do a pretty good job with grilling.

I have also set mine up for rotisserie cooking. This is the first chicken I turned on my setup.

This is an eight pound ham just about done on the Cobb rotisserie.

What say you...are there any users on the forum?

See you have the grill grates for the Cobb Old Dave.

Did not know they had them.

The split? was it a modification by yourself?

I've been a "Cobber" for a while. Love it.

Love the design. The outer cage stays cool, so when when finished at the beach, easy to pick up and pack up.

I use the Cobber cobbles, easy to light. Lights up like gun powder and lasts a long time. Think the charcoal is made from coconut.

My system below, don't use the extender shown below much. Comes along with a wok, grill, griddle, baking tray, and beer can chicken holder.

I had one that we sold on.
We used ours for Camping and it cooked roasts etc awesome.
Now I take a Go anywhere, with cast iron grates

Yes, the Grill Grate Company does make a set for the Cobb Grill. Kinda hard to find on their web site without doing a search.

The Cobb with the Grill Grates will do a fine job with a steak at about 600 degrees.

I designed and built the rotisserie setup for the Cobb Grill. I have all the details along with pictures on my web site. You can find it here:

Like yourself, I really love the little grill and use it often. It’s real nice for camping.

I use the “Extender” for several different cooks where I need extra height in the cooker.

I use both the charcoal briquets and the lump charcoal for fuel in my cooker.

Thanks Old Dave. Great cooks there. Notice you mod your grill plate too with extra holes.

Ahhhh the old Cobb. I never had one but my Ex's parents used one all the time for camping. Swore by it! They seem to be a serious bit of gear
