Oldest Weber Kettle still in use - it is yours?

Post by 12x7 » Sat Jul 25, 2015 12:44 pm

After over 20 years of bbqing, my Weber Kettle OTG is still going strong.

Purchased back in 1993 from Grace Bros, when department stores used to have everything, including selling the kitchen sink, a nice sales lady was very convincing and I become a proud Weber owner.

It got me thinking, what is the oldest Aussie Weber Kettle still in use today? Who can lay claim to this title?

I don't mean the kettle is sitting in the shed or garage gathering dust, I mean actually still cooking up a storm.

I love those old grills,
There's only one of The Custom and Penthouse known in captivity
I'd love to have The Wishing Well in the backyard
Someone in states found a yellow Ranger in someone's council pickup a couple of months ago....lucky bugger!

This thread prompted me to check the age of the brown kettle I picked up last weekend.

According to the code its an 85, so 30 years old and in pretty good nick (amazing what a coating of grease and fat will do).

There are few products which after 30 years are just as good as the day they were bought. You got to hand it to Weber for making such a great product.
