Kamado Big Joe Standalone ordered !!!

Hi All

A little excited and thought I'd say G'Day.

Earlier today I had my order of a black Kamado Big Joe confirmed. I've put the deposit down and now need to wait for its arrival.

The Big Joe standalone units are a special order from BBQs galore and take 4 months to get here. No biggy for me as I'm building and the house won't be ready for 12 months, I just had to order it now as the Black units are being discontinued by Kamado Joe and the CEO of home affairs didn't like the red.

Can't wait to bug you all for hints and tips. Thanks and apologies in advance !!!

Do you know if they are bigger in cooking area than the Primo XL?

The Big Joe was the first kamado I ever saw in the flesh and i wanted one from that time on....but somehow ended up with the Primo...and that may have been because of the colour issue also.

The Big Joe is 61cm while the Primo is 63 x 47.

A guesstimate had them being about the same.

If my maths is what it used to be, the Joe is slightly larger in total area but not enough to make a noticeable difference.
